[The portrait depicts the singer and author Anne Kayssler. She was the wife of Fritz Kayssler, the son of Friedrich Martin Adalbert Kayssler, who formed a trio of artists along with Christian Morgenstern, Fritz Beblo and Erbslöh himself. The portrait is rendered with masterly skill, and depicts the young woman sunk in a deep reverie. The reddish-brown dress in front of the blue-green curtain and armchair offers a harmonious contrast to the delicate female figure.]
As Poetisas
As Poetisas
Elas se amparam
Em papéis
palavras
no brilho
Faca cortando as águas
Os homens
tentam entendê-las
com abraços mágicos
colares
Elas dão poemas
filhos
sombra
e outras possibilidades de abrir
clareiras na floresta
Os homens riscam suas peles
com carinhos beijos
profundos
Mas
elas se amparam
estão
sempre atentas
à bifurcação dos caminhos
à mudança de lua
Os homens as confundem, às
vezes
com mulher
